Programme Description

Agriculture is a vital sector of the Canadian economy. Those who choose a career in agriculture made a choice that will affect the regional and global power.

The Agricultural Technology program offers basic training in agriculture and farm business management, according to new industry trends and the different methods of governance of a farm.

Two profiles are available to students: profile animal and plant profile. The person graduated from this program acquired through this training the skills to adapt to the many technological, social and economic changes in agriculture and para-agricultural sector today.

Conditions of admission :

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent from another province, or the candidate status or adult candidate
  • 1 French credit: grade 11 or 12 (mandatory group course), pre-college or pre-university

official certificates or certifications offered in the program:

  • safe handling of pesticides (Ontario or Quebec)
  • WHMIS

As a result of your program, you're ready for the job market:

  • animator and popularizer
  • Technical Advisor crops, animal feed, equipment and machinery and funding
  • scout for pests
  • manager and farm owner
  • inseminator, dairy controller or classifier
  • Representative for crop insurance, for producer associations
  • technician in agro-environmental clubs, animal science, or in garden centers
  • cowherd

As a result of your program, you're ready for the job market:

  • at university - the college (2 years) is recognized in several Ontario universities (minimum 30 credits) *.
