Introduction
The ESOL department offers a range of courses which will appeal to you if English is not your first language.
Students have an opportunity to study English at the appropriate level. This will be determined at interview to gain experience in the use of the English language. Students will take exams in Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing, which are spread throughout the year, from September until July.
Students will also work towards gaining qualifications in Functional Skills in maths and improving their study and ICT skills, grammar, vocabulary, through a variety of teaching methods and materials in their weekly lessons.
The study programme has been designed to allow students to gain an accredited unit qualification in English from Entry 1 to Level 1 and the necessary experience to improve their employability skills to determine the correct pathway.
