Universities and colleges set their own admission requirements for higher education courses, so they vary broadly. Depending on the course, students may be able to get into higher education with a range of qualifications. If you're applying to do a course, you may find that work experience is taken into consideration alongside any qualifications you have. Some higher education institutes and colleges offer courses as preparation for a certain type of degrees. They usually don't result in separate criteria as they simply qualify you to enter the degree program itself. Courses can be taught in a broad selection of fields of study.
The natural sciences teach students how the natural world works and how it can be used to help humans. By studying natural sciences, you can apply your knowledge to the real world applications.

Learn how to apply cutting-edge knowledge of aeroacoustics in a simple and effective way. After taking this course you will be able to reliably measure noise in a variety of mechanical systems and develop noise reduction strategies to improve their aerodynamic design and performance.
Over the last few years, the field of aeroacoustics has developed rapidly in finding solutions for reducing noise from aircraft, engines, ventilation systems and wind turbines. However, finding the right balance between achieving maximum performance (of mechanical systems such as airplanes, cars, drones, etc.) and lowering their noise output to comply with noise regulations, and ensure people's comfort and health, is a complicated task....

The oceans were formed between 4400 and 3500 million years ago, and they occupy about 71% of the Earth’s surface. Tropical seas hold the highest ecosystem and species diversity of the oceans.
This course introduces the basic concepts of oceanography, marine geology, marine ecology, and marine biology, with emphasis on the interaction between species, between species and their environment and between ecosystems. It also provides information on the natural and human environmental impact and the utility, management, and conservation of the ecosystems.

Study Design in Etiologic Research
This course is a core component of any Master´s degree in Epidemiology and is also key to being able to follow specialized online medical courses in epidemiology. Its aim is for you to learn about the principles and practice of cohort, case-control and cross-sectional studies. We will discuss design, data collection, and outcome measures, as well as the major advantages and disadvantages of the different study designs. The emphasis will be on the application of study design in etiologic research. This online health course focuses on the more classical approach but also addresses modern concepts and design options, such as case-cohort designs. Various other study designs will also be discussed, with an emphasis on validity issues. Study Design in Etiologic Research is part of MSc Epidemiology Postgraduate Online; the online MSc program in Epidemiology offered by Utrecht University, University Medical Center Utrecht, MSc Epidemiology and Elevate....

Envision yourself in a bio lab or a psychology lecture. Now look around you—you’re surrounded by Dutch and international students. Your classroom isn’t in one of those old familiar buildings on your home campus; it’s in one of Europe’s most exciting and unique cities—Amsterdam—at an internationally-recognized research university, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU).
With its strong course offerings in psychology and the sciences, you’ll find English-taught courses at the VU to apply to your major, from Experimental Cell Biology to The History and Philosophy of Psychology. You can dive deep into your major, but you also have the opportunity to expand your studies with IES Abroad course options, such as offerings in Dutch language and culture, sexuality and gender, studio art, and art history....

The potential of applications of microalgae to improve the quality of life of people is very high in 1) energy, 2) water treatment, 3) welfare and health promotion and 4) and food. The products are so varied that they range from active biomolecules with therapeutic capacity for the development of new medicines, food and functional ingredients, products for the dermocosmetic industry, aquaculture, animal feed, biofertilizers, biostimulants, to low value products such as chemical products. bulk, biofuels. Microalgae are also being used in the treatment of wastewater, and lip-absorption of greenhouse gases. However, the global productive capacity of microalgae barely reaches 20,000 tons / year, and its availability in the markets is very low, with relatively high biomass production prices. The above does not favor the development of new initiatives, which generally require little initial amount to do previous studies of research and economic, social and environmental sustainability. The perspectives in the mentioned markets (and especially in the production of chemical products in bulk and basic products) has triggered many institutional initiatives, from small, medium and large companies, to develop microalgae biotechnology throughout the world. All of them have in common the need to produce large amounts of biomass to reduce the current production cost and be competitive in those markets. The Marine Microalgae Biotechnology Group of UAL (BIO173) with experience in this field since 1987 offers its experience and facilities (see attached file word) to doctoral students, postdoctoral and postdoctoral researchers, as well as professionals from all over the world....

The GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is a test that evaluates English language, math and other skills and is often considered as a determining factor in the admission process to a degree program or for the awarding of scholarships.
The GRE general test is carried out in either a computer based or a paper based mode and is divided into 3 main elements: Analytical Writing Assignment, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Questions.
This section evaluates the written communication skills and the ability to critically analyse an argument. It consists of two writing activities:
Describe your perspective about an issue (30 minutes)
