Introduction
Would you love to be a games designer or film animator?
Do you want to work in CGI, animated films, computer games, or digital post-production? This two-year programme develops your skills and uses professional engagement to build your knowledge and industry links.
During your studies, you will have access to our design studios and industry-standard software. You will also benefit from access to the state-of-the-art libraries and other learning resources of our course partner, the University of East London (UEL).
A foundation degree (FDA) is a university-level qualification, equivalent to the first two years of a BA (Hons) degree course. On completion of this course, you can progress to the BA (Hons) in Animation also offered at Barking & Dagenham College.
What will I learn?
You will develop your academic skills through critical analysis of animated films and will have the chance to develop industry links with the UK’s leading animation and media companies, with regular visits to businesses, screenings, and festivals. You will get the chance to develop independent projects and work on live client briefs.
Modules
The programme offers a mix of practical and academic experience covering traditional creative skills, the latest digital applications & specialist areas:
