A foundation year prepares students to enter their desired field of study. It lasts one year and is an introduction into a full-degree program. Different courses are required, and after the year-long foundation is laid, students are able to get into the degree program of their choice.

Costume design assistant, dressmaker, fashion designer and fashion photographer are all careers that may rely on the skills taught through the pursuit of an education in textile. Participants may learn several useful skills associated with weaving, fabrics, dyeing and more in order to become successful in the fashion world.
