Introduction

Programme Description The aim of this program is to understand the vision and the approach behind Italian Design. It is taught in English and targets interior designers, architects, experts of visual communication and brand design, people who are pursuing their career in the fields of architecture, design, and luxury. The program will be held on the road, traveling from Venice to the coast of Liguria (5 terre) and ending in Tuscany. Tentative Schedule Sunday, July 14 Arrival in Venice from Istanbul and check in at Plaza Hotel Monday, July 15 Morning: Workshop LEGO Serious Play in the historical building of Ca Memmo in the heart of Venice Afternoon: Guided Visit to the Biennale Tuesday, July 16 Morning: Workshop LEGO Serious Play in the historical building of Ca Memmo in the heart of Venice Afternoon: Guided Visit to the Biennale Wednesday, July 17 Morning: Workshop LEGO Serious Play in the historical building of Ca Memmo in the heart of Venice Afternoon: Guided Visit to the Biennale Thursday, July 18 Morning: Workshop with the Italian Designer Moreno Ferrari at Ca’ Memmo Afternoon: Guided Visit to the Biennale Friday, July 19 Morning: Workshop with the Italian philosopher and expert of Design, Aldo Colonnetti Afternoon: Moving to La Spezia Yacht Day at Porto Mirabello La Spezia A day dedicated to the design of luxury boats Saturday, July 20 Sunday, July 21 Morning: Free day Monday, July 22 Morning: Moving to Florence Afternoon: Visit to Museo Gucci; Visit to Ferragamo Foundation Tuesday, July 23 Visit to the district of Scandicci, the major Italian industrial district in the sector of leather and fashion Wednesday, July 24 Morning: Moving to Versilia Afternoon: Visit to Pietrasanta, the little Athens. Excursions to local galleries and Museo dei Bozzetti Thursday, July 25 Morning: Workshop at the Henraux Foundation, meeting with the designers of Luce di Carrara brand Afternoon: Visit to the Carrara Marble caves, excursion to the Altissimo, the Michelangelo’s mountain Friday, July 25 Visits to Botteghe d’arte Morning: Arkad Foundation Afternoon: Franco Angeli, Stagetti Saturday, July 26 Free morning and departure back to Istanbul Fees & Logistics Students will sleep at Plaza in Mestre Venice, B&B in La Spezia close to the Porto Mirabello, and centre of Florence, B&B in Versilia. Individual fee of 2500 euro includes: at the arrival pick up at the airport of Venice and trip to the airport of Pisa at the departure; accommodation in all the destinations of the tour; tickets to the Biennale, workshops at Ca Memmo, visits to the Yacht companies, azz<meetings with designers and visits to Caves, foundations and botteghe in Versilia; shuttle from Venice to la Spezia, from la Spezia to Florence, from Florence to Scandicci, from Florence to Versilia. Students who want to extend their stay in Italy should inform the school for visa purposes. In order to enrol into the program, 50% of the fee must be paid by May 24 to BAU EDUCATION SERVICE SRL Bank: Monte dei Paschi di Siena IBAN IT92P0103003271000061179440 SWIFT CODE: PASCITM1A37 The remaining part of the fee is due by and no later than June 15. An invitation letter will be sent to the applicants by May 27 in order to start the process for the touristic visa at the Italian Consulate, in case of Non-EU students. We remind Non-EU students that the VISA process may take up even 6 weeks, therefore it is highly recommended to start it as soon as possible, considering that the program starts in July with arrival to Venice on July 14. PS: the program will be activated with a min of 20 students.
