Introduction
Bakery skills are in high demand in the food and drinks industry. As a baker, you will use a range of methods to produce bread and confectionery products. If you are passionate about food and enjoy baking, this could be the career you are looking for. You will need good numerical skills for weighing and measuring ingredients. Our hands-on courses provide the knowledge, skills, and qualifications for you to secure employment in the food and drink industry.
You will develop your specialist pastry and confectionery skills in our industry-standard kitchen, learning in a highly innovative environment where creativity and enthusiasm are actively encouraged. This advanced Patisserie & Confectionery Diploma will allow you to develop contemporary techniques in producing fermented dough products, petit fours, paste products, desserts, chocolate, and sugar work. We will also bring the gastronomist out in you, writing a critique of visiting a range of restaurants.
A Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery (kitchen and larder) and/or employment within the industry.
You will require a uniform and kit/knives that comply with the curriculum dress code.
You will need Successful completion of Level 2 in the subject plus maths or English at grade 4 for the entry.
