A-level Programmes Explained
Earning high marks on your A-level examinations is quite the accomplishment. Students throughout the UK sit for these examinations as a capstone on their secondary education, following one or two years of study in a variety of subject areas. High A-level scores can mean entrance into top colleges and universities.
What is an A-level? An A-level is a test that students in the United Kingdom take after Year 13 of secondary education. Students wishing to pursue these examinations must study the subject areas they are pursuing for one or two years in preparation. Sometimes students are required to have earned passing marks in at least five GCSE exams, with some schools requiring particular grades in a subject area to pursue A-level studies.
Universities in the UK will take students’ A-level scores into consideration when deciding if a student can gain entrance and study a particular subject area. Each A-Level grade is allocated a point score. Universities will make conditional offers to students, on the basis of them achieving a required number of points. A-level scores help students to narrow their field of study and move on to higher education opportunities. A-level education can also help students to find employment after school, having demonstrated the ability to studier to a higher level than GCSE.
A-level education typically takes two years, although some students may study for only one. Program costs vary depending upon the country and medium of education. It’s best to check with the school in which you’re interested to find out more about their expectations.
Students who have earned A-levels could move on to nearly any career, but most move on to university education. Since A-levels prepare students to learn at a higher academic level, students who take them seriously are much better prepared for post-secondary education.
A-level students will often have some focus on a foreign language, which makes them more attractive to hiring managers and university admissions officers.
A-level education can be pursued on a part-time or full-time basis and are offered by a wide variety of schools and colleges. For busy individuals with other priorities, online education can be a fantastic way to study for these tests without having to rearrange your schedule or relocate. To get started with a course, search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
