Certificate III provides an introduction to ministry and theology through a Bible overview and provides skills in Bible understanding, Christian living and reflection, and skills in practical ministry.

Graduates of the Certificate of Ministry Studies will have developed foundational skills in ministry practice and apply skills in a ministry context, including employed and voluntary roles.

The postgraduate ministry courses are designed to provide professional development, research, and theological reflection for Christian leaders in ordained and lay ministry roles, with an emphasis on innovation.

This course is intended to provide participants with the following knowledge and skills to deepen their understanding of Christian theology and perform limited functions associated with serving in a Christian church or ministry context.

Certificate IV’ builds more deeply on Certificate III, providing more Bible knowledge and practice in applied leadership in a Christian ministry setting.

The CBM is an internal SMBC program that all full-time SMBC students participate in concurrently with their ACT course. The program supplements and complements the accredited studies and is made up of a number of subjects and participation in the community life at College.

The Certificate comprises four (4) Units - 18 credit points, which students can complete through a variety of online study options.

This qualification reflects the role of chaplains and/or pastoral and spiritual care workers who provide ongoing ethical, moral and spiritual support to clients using a person-centred approach.

The Graduate Certificate in Ministry is a one-semester course available on both a full time and part-time basis. Many Christians choose care-based professions that they consider to be their ministry in society.
