This childcare course lays out the responsibilities of childcare providers and describes the common features of childcare settings. We go over policies and procedures related to childcare services to help you understand the needs of children and supervise their growth and development.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Child Health (DCH) comprises two papers, CHHE 701 and CHHE 702. It is recommended that students enrol for CHHE 701 immediately before or after completing CHHE 702.

The three-year Child and Youth Care Ontario College Advanced Diploma program prepares you to support vulnerable children, youth, and families with complex needs. Learn a wide range of prevention and intervention strategies that foster positive change and healthy development. Assess the strengths and needs of young people and families and develop interventions to meet those needs. Apply the principles of relational practice, life space engagement, and anti-oppressive practice while working with children, youth, and families. In classes, you learn practical and theoretical concepts and then apply them in field placements.

The degree or certificate options are designed to support and encourage the professional development of students who aim for a career in Infant, Toddler, and/or Preschool Education; School Age Child Care; and/ or Early Childhood Administration and Supervision. Each certificate is aligned with the California Child Development Permit, which is issued through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

The Clinical Child Psychology Program at the University of Kansas is a graduate program leading to the doctoral degree in Clinical Child Psychology. We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association as a doctoral program in clinical psychology with a special emphasis on children, adolescents, and families.

Students studying child development take courses that focus on the physical, social, emotional, linguistic and intellectual development of children from birth through age 8. Most classes have opportunities for students to observe and work with young children, as well as an on-site infant-toddler program where students observe and may be hired as work-study students.
