Introduction

The Associate in Literature emphasizes coursework that helps develop both the writing and critical thinking skills necessary for many career paths, including law, education, journalism, business, and the ministry. In addition to core academic coursework, Literature students are required to complete Speech, two additional literature courses, and several fine arts, religion, or humanities courses.

Courses within the program expose students to several academic areas that allow them to read and discuss great literature and provide an important framework that helps students critically examine and evaluate information in context.

Because the program emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills, it is excellent initial preparation for careers in such areas as law, education, journalism, business, communications, English, language, literature, and ministry.
