Introduction
Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is a hands-on based degree program using a wide variety of CADD software packages, including Autodesk products like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Inventor, and Revit, Dassault Systèmes' SolidWorks, and Creo (formerly known as ProEngineer).
CADD graduates will have the skills to create, revise, and detail 2D or 3D CADD files such as:
Solid model parts and assemblies using state of the art parametric solid modelling software titles such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, and Creo
Produce professional-quality drawings for complete shape, size, and form dimensions and necessary specifications for parts, assemblies, buildings, structures, and earth projects
Residential and structural construction modelling and detail drawing using AutoCAD and Revit
Develop land parcel drawings, contour mapping, plan and profile views using Civil 3D
Use ESRi'S ArcGIS to perform attribute queries, spatial queries, vector and raster geoprocessing, and address locating.
Students completing the courses EGT 2144 Introduction to SolidWorks and EGT 2244 SolidWorks II are prepared and have the opportunity to complete the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) and Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) exam on campus.
