The Edinburgh School of Food & Wine
Established in 1986, The Edinburgh School of Food & Wine (ESFW) is Scotland's oldest independent, award-winning cookery school.
We welcome all levels of ability, from novice to aspiring professional.
Our experienced team of chefs will teach you the skills and techniques that will enable you to be prepared to 'fix' the situation.
We offer internationally acclaimed full-time diploma courses as well as one-day basic and masterclasses and our highly popular food & wine evenings including Champagne Whisky tasting events.
The school is fully accredited by ICSA and we are working towards full SQA accreditation.
We teach new skills and techniques & Let's have some fun while we learn together.
Ian Pirrie
Principal
Ian took over the running of ESFW in 2008, after a successful career in the finance sector. He brings extensive knowledge of business, education of the food and wine industry. Ian regularly consults on the issues facing the industry today.
Ashley Macmillan
Head Tutor
Ashley is one of the ESFW-qualified students. He joined the school in 2014, with extensive chef experience whilst working in the restaurant industry and he also regularly appears on TV for live cookery demonstrations.
Aneta Broncel
Customer Services
Aneta is a great cook who joined ESFW in 2008 and she keeps the school running smoothly. In addition, she oversees the school’s outside catering business.
