Introduction

The Language, Literature, and Writing degree at Jamestown Community College prepare you to transfer into bachelor's degrees in English, world languages, writing studies, and literary studies. You can pursue careers in writing, editing and copywriting, arbitration and law, translation and interpretation, journalism and reporting, public relations, and technical writing.

While at JCC, you’ll develop your skills in responding to diverse perspectives and new ideas through literature, creative expression, philosophy, and languages. You’ll work closely with your advisor to choose your courses and prepare for transferring after graduation. You can complete the English concentration, or complete the general degree with a track in Language, Literature, or Writing. The Literature and Writing tracks are part of the SUNY Transfer Path in English, which can help you identify core coursework for transfer to four-year SUNY schools.
