The programme also explores issues such as ecotourism and sustainable development. Holding this qualification will enable you to be confident in applying key business and management concepts to a sector which offers wide ranging career opportunities. Travel and tourism contributes a total of 9.8% to world GDP - US$7.6 trillion - having risen consecutively year on year. The sector supports nearly 277 million people in employment – that’s 1 in 11 jobs on the planet (source World Travel & Tourism Council 2015). Students who finish the whole program and progress onto Top-Up will be awarded the Northumbria University degree
