Introduction
Developed for international students, AFY is a programme of academic subjects, study skills and English language training designed to provide you with a direct path to a successful degree study at any NZ university. Completing the Pre-Foundation Programme will allow entry into the AFY Standard Programme.

Introduction
The main purpose of this programme is to enable you to gain direct progression to the first year of an undergraduate programme at one of NZ’s Top 3 universities. 94.2% of graduates from AFY have been successful in gaining entry to many leading NZ universities. As well as our three partner universities, all universities in New Zealand recognize the AFY qualification.
Entry requirements
The course is designed for students of 16 years plus who have completed high school in their own country. You will need to have an IELTS score of 5.0 for the standard programme 5.5 for the intensive programme and 4.5 for the pre-foundation course.
Course structure
For the standard and intensive programme, this includes
English and a choice of four elective subjects: Accounting › Art › Biology › Chemistry › Classical Studies › Economics › Geography › Information Technology › Mathematics › Physics
For the pre-foundation course: you will study three core subjects and two out of three available elective subjects: Core subjects: › English › Mathematics › Information Technology Elective subjects: › Science › Commerce › Social Studies
Next step
Upon successful completion of AFY, and upon meeting university entry requirements, you will be guaranteed entry into the University of Auckland, AUT University or Massey University. You may also apply to other universities in New Zealand. You will also get career support helping you become a confident, highly skilled and extremely employable graduate.
