Administration of Justice is the study of the causes, consequences and control of crime. Although the programs curriculum allows for the development of in-depth knowledge in one of the subjects substantive subsystems (i.e. law enforcement, juvenile, courts or corrections, judicial administration), our objective is to expose the student to a series of courses within the major intended to develop social and cultural sensitivity, effective communication skills, ethical awareness, and the concepts of law necessary to be successful in one of the many Administration of Justice careers. Programs in Administration of Justice are designed to prepare students for careers in federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, correctional agencies and institutions, and private security agencies.

The OSINT Course - Techniques to Support Due Diligence Activities Course is structured in a half-day classroom session lasting three hours. The teaching of the Course includes an important pragmatic activity with the practical analysis of real cases, proposed by the students themselves, and subject to plenary analysis and discussion or exercise guided by the teacher.

The Post-Degree Diploma in Natural Resource Law Enforcement allows students with degrees related to fish, wildlife, or natural resource science to specialize in natural resource law enforcement. The Post Degree Diploma in Natural Resource Law Enforcement is a full time, two semester face to face program; the program also includes a 2-week (10 day) practicum. Throughout the program experiential learning is emphasized and students have the opportunity to meet and engage with natural resource law officers during field and classroom-based projects and activities. Graduates of the Post-Degree Diploma in Natural Resource Law Enforcement will have the skills and educational background requirements to enter directly into the workforce as natural resource law enforcement officers and inspectors in BC and elsewhere in Canada.

This diploma program prepares students to take the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) exam and start careers in state, municipal, and county law enforcement agencies, as well as State and Federal government agencies!

The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Services is a two year, Full Time, work-related course. This course is designed, so that Year One is focused on the HNC syllabus at Level 4 while Year Two is focused on the HND.

While SDCC does not currently have an Administration of Justice program, we offer a couple of classes that you can use as associate degree electives. These courses will introduce you to the Criminal Justice System's functions, including administrative aspects of law enforcement, the court system, and the corrections system.

The program includes general education courses and emphasizes criminal justice courses and supportive social science courses.

The Law Enforcement curriculum is designed to meet the needs of two groups of students: those who plan to work with public or private agencies concerned with maintaining public safety and those already employed by law enforcement agencies who wish to update skills and knowledge.
