The GPD/GD program usually comes after the completion of a Master of Music degree. Compared to the Master of Music, it requires fewer academic courses and is focused on your skills and interests. The Santa Barbara City College Music Department offers a comprehensive program aimed at reaching each student of music, both major and non-major alike. It provides the music major with a thorough basis in the creative (theory, composition, interpretation) and recreative (performance, applied music, history and appreciation) realms of musical endeavor and enjoyment. For those interested in the commercial music field, the department offers courses in jazz, sound recording and electronic music, song writing and arranging. Trevecca’s two-year Associate of Arts in worship studies provides a foundation in musicianship and worship, helping students become well-versed in music theory, performance, biblical and historical worship, worship leading principles, private applied lessons, music technology, and audio basics.

The Community College of Rhode Island Music Program provides affordable access to an associate’s degree with a concentration in classical or jazz studies. The Artist Diploma (ArtDip) in Opera is designed for students with the potential to become professional opera singers. The programme is rich in individual and class provision as well as performance opportunities.
