Results in recent years have been outstanding and many pupils have taken the subject as part of an application profile to Russell Group and Oxbridge universities.

You will also explore the structure of the music industry and develop the listening skills required by music technologists.

This course will inspire and enthuse you to consider a career in the music industry providing you with the opportunity to develop practical skills whilst gaining a broad knowledge and understanding of the music industry. Weekly technical workshops will focus on the development of musical, production and compositional skills.

Our Level 2 Diploma in Music has been designed to reflect industry and as such you will develop your creative and technical skills throughout the course. Using industry-standard software, you will learn how to use computer music systems, synthesisers and samplers and develop skills in recording techniques that will stand you in good stead for a level 3 qualification. Many of the tutors are working musicians or with specialist knowledge. We have a dedicated sound recording studio within our media suite.

A Level Music offers students an opportunity to learn and develop an understanding of music history, composition and performance. The new A- level aims to equip pupils with the necessary tools to study music at university level or potentially gain a job in the music industry. The new AS level provides the student with a solid understanding of the basic tenants of performance, composition and music history.

What do you enjoy? Composing, performing? Maybe you are interested in the more analytical side of music – how styles have developed, how a piece of music is constructed? Whichever is your preference, A Level Music has something for you as the course essentially comprises these three elements. Your performing and composing will be worth 60%, with an analysis paper which counts for 40%.

Master a broad base of electronic music technology knowledge, including MIDI music production, sequencing, synthesis, and sampling.

The Higher Certificate in Creative Music Technology is designed specifically for entrepreneurial-minded self-starter music producers who wishes to produce quality music on computer.
