The INTO Centre has everything you need to help you make a success of studying in the UK. Your first year of studying will be everything you hoped for and more.
Check out the state-of-the-art facilities – there are multimedia centres, language and science labs, and an extensive Learning Resource Centre. We’ll make it easy for you to enjoy British culture and life, with everything from language support to dedicated staff who’ll make sure everything goes well.
Your base for learning and socialising
You’ll find the INTO Exeter Centre on the Streatham Campus. A welcoming, friendly and stylish space with more than 100 dedicated members of staff and excellent facilities. Everything you need is right here.
When you need to study, the Centre is the place to be. There’s an extensive Learning Resource Centre with private study areas, learning materials and computers, and a science laboratory plus two multimedia rooms. You’ll be able to make the most of flexible study spaces for lectures, seminars and tutorials.
And when it comes to relaxing, INTO have you covered – unwind with friends in one of the 10 varied cafés and restaurants, expand your interests and join a society with the Students’ Guild, or head to the on-site gym and sports park.
There are loads of different ways to learn at the INTO centre with 22 classrooms and a range of learning spaces. Whether you’re enjoying a group debate in the lecture theatre or having a one-to-one tutorial session, the centre has everything you need right here.

Want to study away from the campus? E-learning can also be a big part of your studies. You’ll have access to the University’s virtual learning environment. From here you can read lecture notes, go over previous exam papers and browse other useful content to help you out. It’s also a great place to have online discussions with your teachers and other students.
Learning Resource Centre
Head to the Learning Resource Centre for working on classroom assignments – you’ll find a collection of useful books and study materials to help you with your INTO course. Weekly magazines and journals are available too to help you keep up with current events, and there are even computers for you to use to help you with your studies.
Some of the facilities at the Learning Resource Centre include:
- Language resources
- Photocopying and scanning
- Help with IT
The Learning Resource Centre is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm, and is the ideal spot for independent study.
Don’t forget you can also make use of the university’s seven libraries. Across University of Exeter’s three campuses, there is a total of over 1.2 million books and journals. The main university library is located directly opposite the INTO centre and is open 24 hours a day during term time.
Whenever you feel like you need a helping hand, the INTO Centre provides a range of support services.
You’ll find support at every stage of your journey, from making the decision about which programme to choose to an airport pick-up service when you arrive in the UK and a 24-hour emergency telephone number. INTO the University of Exeter achieved 91% student satisfaction for their support (INTO Exit Survey 2015).

Remember, there will be residential assistants within the student residences to help answer any questions you may have and you can also take part in an orientation programme to help you settle into student life in Exeter.
Looking for a snack or a hot drink? The café sits at the heart of the INTO centre and is a great place to have a coffee with friends or just pick up a quick bite to eat in between classes.
If you’re looking for something else, there’s a range of restaurants and cafes on the University campus, serving just about anything you fancy. And you’ll also find plenty of grocery stores close to the campus.

In 2012, the University created the Forum – a beautiful £48 million centrepiece for the Streatham Campus which includes a Student Services Centre, a refurbished library, retail and catering outlets and a 400-seat lecture theatre.
