At Newcastle College, we run courses from Level 3 (university/ undergraduate entry courses) to Level 7 Masters courses. You must have completed the previous level before you are able to progress to the next, if you want to study for a degree you will need to have a Level 3 qualification to gain entry. However, for some Masters courses if you have relevant work experience you could be considered for entry.
International Foundation Programme
You can start studying for a Level 3 qualification with our International Foundation Programme. On attaining a Level 3 qualification, you can apply to study an undergraduate degree either at Newcastle College or at another institution.
Foundation Degrees and Honours Degrees
Our degree courses work slightly differently to the normal route of study onto an Honours Degree. The first two years of a degree are covered by our Foundation Degree, so at the end of two years of study, you receive a qualification that is recognised by employers. At the end of this course, you can take a one-year course with Newcastle College or at another institution to top-up the Foundation Degree to a full Honours Degree. Our Honours Degree Top-Ups are validated by Teesside University.
With a degree qualification (or appropriate professional experience) you can apply to study on one of our Master's programmes. Our Master's Degrees are validated by Teesside University.
