The University of Kent is a leading university with an international outlook and excellent reputation for teaching and research.
The Times Higher Education 2018, ranked Kent in the top 10% of the world’s universities for international outlook. Kent was awarded GOLD, the highest rating, in the UK government’s Teaching Excellence Framework. We are a global institution. Forty per cent of our academic staff come from outside the UK and our students represent 157 different nationalities, creating a vibrant, multicultural place to study. We have one of the best graduate employment rates in the UK. More than 95% of our 2017 graduates were employed or in further study within six months of graduation
Kent’s undergraduate degrees are some of the best in the UK, designed to challenge you, take your studies to the highest level, and prepare you professionally. Most of them can incorporate a year spent working in industry or on placement. Many also allow you to spend a year studying or working abroad.
Our International Foundation Programmes offer foreign students the opportunity to prepare for the academic and personal challenges of an undergraduate education at the University of Kent and in the UK.
International Foundation Programmes (IFP)
The IFP are ideal for you if any of these apply:
• you have excellent high school grades but your national qualification is not suitable for direct entry to a UK university
• you have taken A-Level / IB equivalent studies but not obtained the results needed for direct entry on to an undergraduate programme
• you need additional language support to prepare you for undergraduate study
• you want to spend a year becoming familiar with life and studying in the UK
Based on our Canterbury campus, the IFP allows you to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to be successful in your undergraduate studies. Our team supports you as you settle in to student life, giving you the chance to focus fully on your studies. With nearly 40 years of experience in helping international students prepare for their learning journey, you will be joining an experienced and dedicated team working to support your transition to university while making the experience exciting and enjoyable.
We have a strong record of success. The majority of students who take a foundation year at Kent go on to achieve a 2.1 (merit) or a First (distinction) on their degree programmes.
