Since 1916, Sacramento City College has provided outstanding academic and vocational training and boasts 212 degree and certificate programs. With the main campus located in the heart of Sacramento, and college outreach centers in Davis and West Sacramento, the college enrolls a diverse community of nearly 22,000 students and offers multicultural activities throughout the academic year. For nearly 100 years, SCC has remained committed to fostering a learning community that celebrates diversity, nurtures personal growth, and inspires academic and economic leadership. Though SCC remains true to its history and tradition, the college has progressed in every area of teaching, learning, and technological innovations. The college proudly offers a vast array of opportunities for students of all backgrounds, including online courses and services, outreach center locations, and specialized student success support programs to choose from. SCC also has many newly renovated and modernized teaching and learning facilities, including the environmentally friendly Davis Center, the state of the art Performing Arts Center, and the iconic Hughes Stadium. On the main campus, the well-recognized architectural features such as archways, columns, and brick have been preserved through renovations to maintain the collegiate and prestigious look and feel. SCC is committed to offering programs and a college environment that supports accessibility for a variety of students. To that end, the outreach centers play an important role as alternative locations for access to courses, student services, and community resources for communities in Davis and West Sacramento. Both college outreach centers are accessible by bus, bicycle, car, or regional transit. Additionally, SCC students receive an excellent discounted rate for regional transit to encourage the use of environmentally responsible, cost-efficient, and practical transportation. And for those who cannot make it to any of the three SCC campuses, the college has boosted its distance education offerings in online and hybrid courses to meet a variety of academic needs. Diversity is a significant source of pride for SCC in many ways. The SCC student population is one of the most diverse in the region, and opportunities for engagement in various cultural awareness activities abound. Academically, the college offers a multitude of degree and certificate courses, as well as general education courses for those who plan to transfer to 4-year institutions.
